 Really good, but not great July 29, 2010

Bought these speakers on the back of the good reviews seen here. My verdict is that these speakers are good quality and good price but they do have their faults.
Positives
1. They look great. High quality finish on both speakers and sub woofer
2. Price. Good value for what you pay for
3. 3 seperate inputs - 2 x headphone connectors and 1 x RCA - provides flexibility on how you connect these speakers to your system
4. Silent when not in use. I've read report of speaker hum but haven't noticed anything on my system
Negatives
1. As some reviewers mentioned the sound is very hollow. Granted these are not high-end speakers at high-end prices, but don't expect Bose quality audio. There seems to be a significant dip in the mid range frequencies leading to an unnatural sound output. I would attribute this to bad crossover points than speaker driver quality but the result is still the same. Admittedly, the sound has actually improved over time, leading me to believe that the speakers do require some break-in period
2. The cables are too short for some installations (particularly mine). The right (main control) speaker has an annoying DB9 connector. Granted that you can buy an extension on Amazon but even doing this, the male-female ends seem to be reveresed. The screws and nuts on the extension were on opposite ends
3. Mounting options are limited - basically desktop only. There are no swivel, wall or stand mounts. I would have like to see a threaded hole in the back to provide more flexibility
Overall, I would still say these speakers are a good buy as they provide decent sound at a reasonable price. Just set your expectations accordingly

.....because they are EXCELLENT value for money! You'd be surprised by the level of quality and crisp sound that these two little speakers produce. They were easy enough to set up and all I need to was put them in blast them out and they truly did not disappoint.
The subwoofer is small and you will be shocked that this little bugger can push out the intense rumble that it does. My music variety changes from DnB to the good old classic Beatles and the system as a whole will not let you down. If you are looking for just something to help improve your computers sound in your bedroom then these are a recommended buy!
Although if you are looking for speakers for a really large room then you may want to get speakers a little bigger but even still the Logitech Z323 Speaker System could give it a run for its money!

What a lovely improvement the Logitech Z323's are on my ancient Dell speakers! In my little wood and glass garden study the sound resonates beautifully. I am so lucky to have this - particularly because the Amazon delivery person dumped it outside the door of a neighbouring flat building where my name did not appear on any of the bell-tabs.
Hey, Amazon, what idiots are doing your delivery these days ? If a kindly neighbour had not looked me up, we would be having mysteries together. Check out your drivers, will you. I might want to order something more sometime.

I rarely make reviews but felt it would be criminal if i didn't let people know how brilliant these speakers are.
I got these to replace my old Logitech s200 speakers ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0009KO43A/ref=cm_rdp_product ) which have been slowly dying for months. What can i say these speakers completely blow the S200 out of the water. They sound amazing with a speaker on the front and back of both of the satellite speakers so you can hear the same level of sound coming from the speakers whether you're in front or behind the speakers. Then we come to the subwoofer, it's small but my god it kicks out a hell of a lot of base. Last of all these speakers have to be the sexiest set of speakers I've ever seen!!!
I would 100% recommend these speakers to people like me who listen to a lot of music and watch a lot of movies
