 Very BITTERsweet... March 10, 2010

Hi I previously wrote a glowing review for this multimedia system having previously only used it for 2 weeks. Now I've had them for about 15 months. What's changed?
Sound:
These sound brilliant for movies and games, the mid range is quite good with highs covered fairly well too displaying the ambience of movies and games well with the reassuring bass thudding, growling or rumbling in.
For audio 'purists' these aren't the speakers to go for though, the nature of satellite 2.1's are the over emphasis on high end, and the bass can be overpowering at times. (male speech through it can make sound very, um manly.)
Best bit? The bass rumbles (not the technical term). Making it great for movies, not a booming bass, but a much deeper rumble.
Bad Bits?:
Very limiting logitech connections. You can't extend the speaker cable length, although I imagine many to put the bass under the table which puts it within reasonable distance.
However my real gripe is with the 'SoundTouch' control pod. It's so very very very unnecessary! If it breaks or the connections become 'loose' you'll probably have to buy a new system as I've found out that Logitech don't sell spare/replacement parts like the Control Pod! Gutting considering almost every other system uses standard parts hence the ability to replace.
THINK HARD ABOUT BUYING SPEAKERS WITH A WIRED REMOTE.
p.s. THX really doesn't mean much, just LucasArts coming up with a set of speaker standards that about 60-70% of decent systems can pass.

Excellent build quality and fantastic sound. Shame the remote is wired but it feels good to use so I'll forgive this issue and keep the 5 star review :)
The sub is huge! Not really an issue, but I was excepting smaller. The sound does live up to the size however!

The sound is great, although the speaker is massive and quite heavy+ it takes quite a bit of space,but it was a present so I can't complain :)

I've had these speakers for a month or so now and they are amazing, the sound quality is great, the bass is immense. Havent turned it above half way as of yet but will come in handy next year at uni for the mass gatherings. 10/10
